This is Bella, a three-legged llama who was in danger of being euthanized because of the depression—and inability to get around—caused by her amputation. Until, that is, she received an awesome new cheetah-print bionic leg. Now she is the happiest three legged llama in all the land.
Bella's leg was injured a few years ago in an unfortunate gopher hole incident. Doctors tried to heal the leg, but eventually infection set in and it had to be amputated. Things looked bleak until the prosthetic, built by artificial limbs specialist Michael Carlson, turned things around for the sanguine spitter. Now she wears it six to eight hours a day, and has improved her quality of life with important things like being able to scratch her little llama belly. [FOX40 via Fark, The Sun]
